The current event I choose to write about this week was the terrible explosion at the fertilizer plant in West, Texas. Last week many people turned their attention from the bombing in Boston, to the misfortune in Texas. The cause of the explosion that took place at the fertilizer plant is still unknown and being investigated. The blast occurred around 8:00 PM. Fourteen people were killed and over 200 were injured. The damage and destruction of homes and businesses is one of the worst American industrial accidents in years. The explosion left a crater where the plant use to be that is 90 feet wide. The owner of the plant is now being sued by four different insurance companies.
